Don’t know Your You’re from Youre Elbow?
How about that’s, thats; or it’s, its?
Bob’s You're Uncle, or Bobs Your Uncle?
Arrgh, so confusing! And time-consuming. And unimportant.
Actually, no. Very important. To appear credible, professional, and like you actually give a sh*t, these are little punctuation problems which need addressed.
And don’t forget the missed commas, full stops, or that bit of text which looks like you added it as an afterthought (you did, but no-one needs to know that.)
It’s Ok, I’ve Got Your Back
Don’t spend precious time agonising over the correct use of an apostrophe any more.
Leave the spotting of errant commas to me.
And relax, knowing you’ve got a cohesive, correct, and professional-looking piece of copy at the end.
Never have to imagine your 2nd-grade teacher screaming “I before E, except after C!” again. (Which doesn’t work anyway, by the way.)
Think of Proofreading as Quality Control
Occurring at the very end of writing, before publishing anything, proofreading is super important. Its purpose is threefold:
Peace of mind.
Professionalism.
Perfection.
You need peace of mind your words are error-free and credible. You need to appear as the professional you are. And you need perfection in your work.
How to work with me
Is that your final draft?
After editing, a final proofread can happen. This is best done just before publishing.
Leave it with Me
I’ll provide the final Quality Control, picking up those hard-to-find errors, or simple-to-make mistakes.
A Finished Product!
I send a polished, proofed, professional document back to you.
Then you’re free to publish – exciting!
