What transcription and typing services do you offer?

We offer a proofreading and editing service for any files or documents you may have, including manuscripts. We also offer a copy typing service where we can work from a digital file or an audio file, as well as non-electronic sources. We also undertake content writing for any articles, newsletters or blogs you may need.

 

Why is proofreading and/or editing important?

Proofreading and editing are the most important and beneficial ways to ensure that your writings will not make you sound unprofessional, nor lead to any misunderstandings for your readers. Spelling errors, poor grammar, or incorrect information are just some of the mistakes that can have a negative effect on you or your business. If there are errors present, it can be costly to fix them afterwards; both monetary and reputation-wise.

 

What is copy typing?

Copy typing is the process of creating an editable document (usually a Word document) out of an existing file that is not already editable in Word. It can involve creating documents from PDFs, hand written notes or any other original text that needs recreating.

 

Do you offer digital transcription?

Yes, we can transcribe your recorded message or audio file into a well formatted digital text copy, free from mistakes and errors. This service is charged per audio minute so you will know the charge up front; this can vary depending on the number of speakers, quality of recording etc. We will ask for your recording before we quote for this reason.

 

Why should I have a newsletter?

A newsletter is necessary for any business, because it’s a way to reach out to your clients; existing and prospective. Whether online or in a printed form, a newsletter is a valuable marketing tool, allowing you to connect regularly with everyone on your database, keeping you fore-front in their minds and establishing a trusted relationship, leading to more sales. It is an effective way to let your clients know about up to date news regarding your business, special offers you may have or just to remind them that you are there and to check in with you.

 

I need a content writer, is this you?

Yes, we can research, write and edit an article for you on whatever subject you need, be it for your newsletter, blog or for any other reason. We will include key words to maximise your SEO potential to ensure your article is easily found on the net.

 

What is SEO?!

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation, which is the process of increasing the quality and quantity of visitors to your website or web page through a search engine’s unpaid results (also known as natural or organic results).

 

Can you write my university assignment for me?

No! However, once you have written your report, we can proofread it, edit it and even check your references are correct, meaning you have a first class report ready to go. Check your University policy regarding proofreading, as although they mostly encourage it, each policy may be different.

 

Is confidentiality guaranteed if I use Pro Writings?

Yes of course. All work received is treated with utmost respect and confidentiality. No information will be shared without the client’s written consent. ​Our website is a secure site, meaning you can be confident sending us confidential information.

How much will it cost?

Pro Writings rates can be charged hourly, by the page or by the project, depending on the nature of the work and your preference. Contact Us for a quote and further information. ​

 

I don’t live in New Zealand. Can you work for me?

Yes. As the work is done electronically, Pro Writings can cater for clients from anywhere in the world. We are based in Putaruru in the South Waikato for the more local clients.

All quotes and accounts are in your own currency (based on the conversion on the day of writing) and paid via Transfer Wise for UK clients.

 

How do I send you my document?

You can send documents by email, website link, or on a storage device in the mail. Contact Us for our postal address. We also have OneDrive and Dropbox accounts through which you can send larger files and audio files.

 

How do you proofread my electronic document?

We will edit Microsoft Word documents using the ‘Track and Change’ function. This allows you to visualise any suggestions made, and to accept or reject changes. In this way all final decisions rest with you. We can also edit PDF files online.

We can also mark up a hard copy of any document manually so you can see and correct any errors this way, if you prefer.

 

How do I pay you?

Pro Writings’ bank account number will be included on the invoice for electronic payment. This is the preferred method of payment. We also have a PayPal account, however this will incur a fee. ​ For overseas clients, the invoice will be payable to, and transferred using, TransferWise at no extra cost to you.

 

When do you expect payment?

We will invoice for payment within 14 days of the date on the invoice. For overseas clients, and in some other instances, we may ask for some or all of the fee to be paid before work commences. ​
